The history of Novelty and its significance to society.
Go through the history, we can find that novelty, creativity, Innovation and Invention, all of them actually has been conducted through great and creative artworks. This society need innovation which is the final output of idea as the of result regarding action taken. Furthermore, we also need the support of creativity in order to create something new which is based on the old one. If not, we would live in a boring,still unchanged life without any new development. People create new invention from era to era because we desire to get a better and more better lifestyle. Moreover, these terms play important role in the evolution of human being.
It also make sense on the design and art aspect. For instance, artists and designers seek for new exploration on their art pieces by creating and applying new elements and strokes.

Lesson 02 Novelty, Creativity, Innovation and Invention
In week 3, I learned about Novelty, Creativity, Innovation and Invention in Creative Studies class.Although these four terms seem like have close connection to each other, they have their own personal meaning respectively.
Novelty
Novelty is defined as the quality of being new, fresh and interesting which is always based on what has been created before.
This is a novelty design for metal "spring" hookCreativity is defined as the ability to generate new ideas by combining, changing or reapplying existing ideas, or a new approach of making things.
This is a creative design for paper bag.Innovation
Innovation is defined as a process of making improvement by adding new elements or creative ideas into the social context.
This is a innovation design for head set systemInvention can be defined as a new composition, device or process.
This is a new design for motorbike which has only one wheel.Reflection
In my opinion, we should learn and understand each meaning of Novelty,Innovation,Invention, and Creativity in order to create and design new things. We, as a creative person, are not only about thinking new ideas (Creativity and Novelty), but also doing new things based on the new ideas. These four terms can be used together by supporting each other in the process of making creative stuff. They are really helpful on the process of either making creative thing or being creative people. Let's learn it and be creative!
Exercise 1
I has drawn a painting as creative image of my friend, Cham Yang Yaw, for exercise 1.
I made it like artistic image by using different kinds of brush strokes and lines. Main color used in this artwork is brown yellow and black. Brown yellow can be represented as the paper color of old manga(comic) and black stroke represents the black outline of manga. It is because Yang Yaw is a passionate people on art and design aspect especially on manga art and somemore, he loves to read manga very much. However, I drew it with my own artistic style and skill since I am also an artist or designer who should have to own my personality on artworks.
Lesson 01 Defining Creativity
In the second week, the lecture of defining creativity. What is creativity? Creativity is the ability to generate innovative idea by reapplying, changing, and combining existing ideas and then convey them from thought into reality. It is also defined as a new approach of doing things .
Some people are creative by nature and for others, creativity can be nurtured by using the right method and technique. There is no such thing as people who are not creative. Actually, it isn't being creative that is hard, it is working on developing that ability.
Creativity also can be developed in the process of creative thinking to solve problem we encountered daily. Everything can be easily solved by different kinds of solutions depend on how we think. As the result, creativity plays the role of creating different ways in the process of thinking.
Reflection
In my opinion, everyone can be creative to do anything. We also can use creativity in almost all aspects in our daily life as in cooking, dealing with people and exercising. Because of creativity, our daily life don't feel boring as there are a lot of fresh and creative stuffs exist around us. Actually our creativity can be inspired from our surroundings everyday. We can gain our standard of creativity by more observation and thinking.
Creativity is very important especially to us, as Faculty of Creative Multimedia' students. It is very useful that it can helps us a lot in art and design aspect. All unique and special stuffs has been created by designer with the support of creativity.
Nothing is impossible for creativity. Creativity is a process, attitude and ability that belongs to everyone.
